The sun porch at the cabin this week was a bit bright for the computer during large chunks of the day, and too dark for spinning at night. But I needed to spin more on Thursday evening.
I pointed the portable light I brought with me at the stone floor so I could see the drafting zone against it. Visibility wasn't perfect, but I could see well enough for a comfortable half-hour of smooth spinning. (That's a Navajo-Churro Sheep t-shirt.)

What a cozy setting!. Good idea for the deflected light. I might use a similar idea when dh wants to watch a movie in low light.
That is a very nice action photo in a great setting. I’ve really enjoyed reading the topics of your recent posts. It is interesting to see the work behind the coming book and side-topics it generates.
It worked great. The angles were key: light, background (contrast to fiber), wheel, area of moving hands for drafting. Be picky about your set-up, then enjoy.
Thanks for the feedback! I’ll see if I can keep some of this going, even back in my native environment. Although that felt like my natural environment.
What a beautiful setting and photo. The lighting is gorgeous.
That pic. is beautiful – so warm and cozy. A couple of years ago I attended the Navajo-Churro Sheep Festival in Flagstaff. I bought a t-shirt and a sweatshirt. I haven’t seen one since until I saw yours in your picture. 😀
I will be writing to you about my take on “Walking Nature Home”. I finished reading it this afternoon and am moved beyond words. Putting words to paper (to computer page) will take some thought. I too read with sticky notes and my book is now full of them. I too will reread this book from cover to cover and will continue to go back and read parts of it – probably forever.

Oh, thanks, Lindy, for the note and I’ll look forward to what you have to say about Walking Nature Home. “Moved beyond words” was my challenge, too. And I’m very rarely beyond words.
