Good new book for writers to know about: Lisa Dale Norton’s Shimmering Images: A Handy Little Guide to Writing Memoir. It arrived at our local independent bookstore yesterday as a result of a special order I placed. I found out it was coming up from Susan Tweit, and I trust her recommendations.
It’s a quick read—an hour, thick or thin—and is simple in the way of things that consist of an essence, distilled from a larger mass.
I’m about two-thirds of the way through. I’m not rushing, because it’s
one of those books whose company I enjoy. I started it at about 4:30
this morning, then went back to sleep for a while, read a bit more, am
working now, will read a bit more later. Nice to look forward to. Useful concepts, well presented.

Well, Deb, sh*t. Another book I will have to buy/read.
